This year, Best Joined Up will create a series of huge-scale sequential arts pieces which will be created on site and then exhibited in our new third exhibition space – Allied London Hall – the project will be completed with live illustration over the comic con weekend.

Core Mix Exhibition

1-30 Nov, Cuvée Wine Bar, Granary Wharf, Leeds, opening times vary, suitable for all ages, FREE

Gramschi – half-Viking / half-nerd finally begins his realisation of a decade-long project – meaning he actually started painting. As for the works themselves; recognition will doubtless occur, but may not be instant. Bastions of escapism; solace; thrill and sheer fun. The simple and bold extrapolated to cosmic complexity. Or just pretty colours and shapes. It doesn’t matter.

This exhibition runs for the whole of November, and includes talks on the works on Sunday 3rd and Sunday 17th November at 1400. For opening times and location details, please visit cuveeleds.com

Barbara ‘Basha’ Baranowska: Film Poster Design Talk

Leeds Town Hall, Albert Room, 1430, all ages, FREE

Barbara ‘Basha’ Baranowska, best known for her poster for Possession, is the unsung hero of Polish poster art. Basha donned a variety of graphic personae – from the sometimes brutal cut-outs of her early Polish book jackets to voluptuous, almost psychedelic surrealism of her French film posters, and the works she produced are unforgettable. Here, the curator of an exhibition of her works running for the duration of the festival (see leedsfilm.com for more details), Daniel Bird, will give a free talk on Basha, her life, and her creations.
